I am actively involved in motorsport, particularly rallying. My first rally car was a Ford Escort MK2 which I drove for 3 years from 1996 - 1999. This was followed by a new Proton Satria that was built by Ron Moore from Orange. Along with Co-Drivers Mark Blume, and later, Paul Bennett, I competed in the one make Proton series in the Australian Rally Championship (ARC) 2000 - 2002. We had a great team (managed by Ron Moore) and a strong car, recording wins in the Proton Trophy classification in events held in Queensland, Adelaide and Tasmania. We also competed in the Group N division of the World Rally Championship (WRC) in Rally Australia in 2000.
The highlight of the Proton era was winning our class division in the ARC Championship for under 1500cc cars in 2001 and 2002 as well as winning the Proton Trophy in 2002.
After a break I returned to the rally scene in 2013. The car of choice this time was a 1964 MK1 Morris Mini Cooper S, based on the car that won the prestigious Monte Carlo Rally in 1967, driven by Rauno Altonen and Henry Liddon.
